Your journey begins by exploring the blue-painted streets of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains before immersing you in the nation’s cultural capital, Fes, with a full-day guided tour. From there, the route turns south, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains into the golden dunes of the Erg Chebbi.
The Sahara experience is a true highlight, featuring an unforgettable sunset camel trek and a magical night in a traditional Berber camp. The final leg of your journey guides you through the spectacular Todra and Dades Gorges, past the iconic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and over the majestic High Atlas Mountains, delivering you to the famous “Red City” of Marrakech.
Your tour begins upon your arrival at the Tangier airport or port, where your driver will meet you. From there, you will embark on a scenic drive south into the heart of the Rif Mountains. You will arrive in the famous blue city of Chefchaouen in the afternoon. After checking into your riad, you will have the rest of the day to explore the magical, blue-painted streets of the medina at your own pace.
Enjoy a final morning exploring the tranquil alleys of Chefchaouen. Around midday, you will depart for Fes. Along the way, you will stop at the incredible UNESCO World Heritage site of Volubilis to explore the best-preserved Roman ruins in Morocco. After a brief photo stop in Meknes, you will arrive in Fes in the evening and check into your riad for a two-night stay.
Today is dedicated to a full-day guided tour of Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital. Your local guide will lead you through the labyrinthine alleys of Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will visit historic landmarks such as the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Kairaouine Mosque (from the outside), the Nejjarine Fountain, and the famous Fes tanneries, offering a deep dive into the city’s rich history.
After an early breakfast, you will begin the long but beautiful journey to the Sahara Desert. You will travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane and the Azrou cedar forest to see the native Barbary apes. After a lunch stop in Midelt, you will continue through the scenic Ziz Valley. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you will embark on a camel trek to watch the sunset and spend a magical night at a Berber desert camp.
Wake up early to witness a breathtaking desert sunrise. After breakfast, you will ride your camels back to meet your driver. The journey continues west, with a stop at the magnificent Todra Gorges where you can walk between the towering canyon walls. Afterward, you will travel along the “Road of 1001 Kasbahs” to the beautiful Dades Valley for your overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will travel from the Dades Valley towards Marrakech. The route passes through the Valley of Roses and Ouarzazate before arriving at the magnificent Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After exploring this spectacular fortified village, you will begin the dramatic ascent over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass. You will arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon and check into your riad for a two-night stay.
Today is dedicated to exploring the vibrant “Red City” of Marrakech. Your local city guide will lead you on a tour of the city’s most important sites, including the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia Mosque (from the outside), and the famous Jardin Majorelle. The tour concludes in the bustling Djemaa el-Fna square. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own leisure.
After breakfast, you will have free time for last-minute souvenir shopping, depending on your flight schedule. Your driver will then provide a transfer to Marrakech-Menara Airport for your departure, bringing your incredible 8-day tour to a close.
